Winter, The Best Season for Slofing

The other day, I decided to go sledding, just after the fresh snowfall. Unfortunately, there aren't many good hills near my house, so I went to the golf course.  It's wicked fun to sled down all the big hills and the go over the sand traps!  Down side of this, last year one of my friends broke her back sledding down a hill and landing on a frozen water hazard ouch.  It's really fun, but be careful, also if you have a bad back you might want to wait for normal golfing season.

Ice Cream at 29 Degrees Fahrenheit........ Yummy

Today my friend D and I decided to stop by the Coldstone's near our school for ice cream, despite that fact that it was about three degrees below freezing.  I had a like it size cup of dark chocolate peppermint stick ice cream with candy cane mix-ins, and it was sooo good.  If your bored and need an afternoon pick-me-up you should definitely try this.  However, don't try this too often, because the calories can add up quickly.  Instead, you should try making some lower calorie versions of your favorite sweets at home.  My personal favorite is the chocolatly chip frapachino Norah style, and now my friend J and I make them everytime we have a sleepover.  All you have to do is throw some chocolate chunks, skim milk, low fat chocolate sauce, and some ice cubes into a blender and mix until you find your favorite constancy.  They are really good, and if you make whip cream, you can add some to the top when you finished making them.

Congratulations Obama!!

I must admit that, I am an avid Mitt Romney supporter, but over the course of the election, I found that it's impossible not to admire Barack Obama.  I just wanted to note that it's a big accomplishment for him to become the fist African American president in the Western world the day after Martin Luther King day.  Here's to Obama, you made the history books, and I'm sure Dr. King would be very proud!  Good luck at the inauguration tomorrow Mr. President!

The New It Series, Even for Girls Who Never Read

Thanks to a suggestion from my friend D, I decided to start reading the Clique series, and it's really good.  The first book in the series is a great story about four girls known as the clique who go to Octavian Day School in New York.  When they start seventh grade their leader Massie is forced to take the new girl Claire under her wing because their parents are good friends.  However, no matter how hard Claire tries she can't seem to make her and her keds from Florida fit in.  It's funny and has a lot of surprising twists, and Massie sort of reminds me a younger more rural version of Blair Waldorf (haha) without the scandals.

Classy Shoppers(a.k.a. me) Welcome Rugby to the Natick Collection

This is officially the second best edition to the Natick collected (j.crew is the best of course.)  I, being strictly a classic girl, have avoided it, I mean who came up with messed up camo cargo pants exactly?  The other day I decided to check it out anyway, and it was awesome!  They have wicked cute sweaters, cords, and of course rugby shirts.  Some of the stuff is unfortunately I litter too punked up for my taste, but the classic pieces is the picture are cool.  Also big new, I've made another great fashion discovery!  Surprisingly, J.C. Penny's new brand American Living has some cute blazers and polos, and I heard from an insider that it's manufactured by Ralph Lauren.

Christmas in New England

It's finally Christmas, and however hectic the month leading up to it had been it must be put in the past, so we can enjoy the holiday! The best things about the holidays are, playing in the snow, eating candy canes, drinking hot cocoa, listening to Christmas music, shopping (even though it's crazy), baking cookies, going to parties, opening presents, decorating the tree, and spending time with the whole family. However, Christmas can be crazy, so here are some holiday tips.
Dressing for Holiday Cheer
- You have to find the perfect mix of classy, and stylish, festive, and of course warm too.
-Dress in layers, so that if it's cold outside, and hot at your party, you can still be comfortable.
-You what to look cheerful, but don't go overboard. Try to get a fancy blouse, or a dress in crimson, black, gold, or silver, great holiday colors.
-For a great touch add a sparkly winter touch such as a snowflake necklace of cute snowmen earrings.
-Whatever you do, please don't give into the horrible Christmas sweater, that your aunt gave you last year!
Shopping Without Losing Your Money and Sanity
-It's kinda of late for this, but try to get your shopping done early on,so that you can avoid the horrible last minuet rush.
-If it's too late for that, try to skip the big malls like the Natick Collection, and find a smaller department store.
-Before you go shopping, make a list of who you want to buy for, and keep it was short as possible, that why you won't forget anyone, or go broke.
-If your shopping for quick gifts for your parents, aunts, and uncles, you should go to a store like Kohl's because they have great holiday sales and they have everything. I suggest, scarves, hats, gloves, 365 day calendars, jewelry, bath sets, and sports shirts.
-If your shopping for far away cousins, just pick up some gift cards, they work for anyone.
-If your shopping for friends, I suggest the Paper Store, after all they do have Vera Bradley!

Hope that my tips helped! If you have any remember to post them under comments for this post!
